This
monument made of food waste is where I come from and it is not just warm and cozy. To
visualize this on a canvas, I went through a process of making a sculpture. I
gathered food waste, fermented it, brought it out to a public space and
stacked it up in an unstable way.
A potential that I saw in the process is to cherish every opportunity to think more deeply on the way. To elaborate, when I fermented the food, I was apologetic about the stinky smell to those who share the studio space, to conserve the relationships. However, I realized that there are special dialogues that are made possible only because I created such situation.
